As a student at Calbright everything you need to complete your coursework is built into the learning management system. However, from time to time, you may want to extend your learning. The following materials and resources have been customized to each program pathway to help you prepare for exams and expand your learning of different topics. In addition to program specific resources, you have access to resources to help you stay up to date on news, reference books and writing resources to improve your writing, and media and video resources.

Medical Coding Program Pathway

  • Medical Abbreviations: A comprehensive list of medical abbreviations.
  • Medical Dictionary: Search medical terms and abbreviations with the most up-to-date and comprehensive medical dictionary from the reference experts at Merriam-Webster.
  • Medical Law and Ethics Resources: The United States Department of Health and Human Services provides resources for professionals to learn more about HIPAA Rules, guidance on compliance, OCR’s enforcement activities, frequently asked questions, and more. 
  • Medical Terminology: The Merck Manual is one of the most widely used comprehensive medical resources for professionals and consumers. 

Anatomy and Physiology Resources

  • Anatomy – 3D Models  Explore over 100 3D models of the body categorized by disorders. 
  • Human Body A general introduction to the human body. Topics include: cells, tissues and organ systems, min-body interactions, anatomy and disease. 
  • Images Explore over 1600 medical images of the body categorized by disorders.

IT Cybersecurity Program Pathway

  • CyberSecurity Career Pathway: Explore this interactive career pathway which provides key jobs within cybersecurity. Learn more about common transition opportunities and information about salaries, credentials, and skill sets associated with each role. 
  • National Institute of Standards and Technology: Learn how NIST develops cybersecurity standards, guidelines, best practices and resources to meet the needs of the U.S. Government. Explore Cybersecurity Vitals Fact and expand your knowledge of topics such as cryptography, privacy engineering, and identity and access management.

  • Writing, Citation and Grammar: The Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue University houses writing resources and instructional material as a free service of the Writing Lab at Purdue. Students, members of the community, and users worldwide will find information to assist with many writing projects. 
  • Writing, Reading and Critical Thinking: Writing for Success is a text that provides instruction in steps, builds writing, reading, and critical thinking, and combines comprehensive grammar review with an introduction to paragraph writing and composition.
